The fastest and easiest way to get to the island is by air. Mallorca is connected with 164 different airports. Son Sant Joan airport is the third busiest airport in Spain, after only Madrid-Barajas and El Prat-Barcelona, and is easily accessible from other Spanish airports and countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom.

Summer is the busiest period although the airport operates throughout the year. Son Sant Joan handles 23 million passengers a year.
