Welcome address
Hello everyone,
My name is Sorrel Langley-Hobbs, and I am honoured to be the new President of ESVOT, taking over from Uli Reif. Following the tremendous success of the World Congress in Rome, we are already looking ahead with excitement to our next ESVOT meeting in the beautiful island nation of Malta.
The 26th ESVOT Meeting will take place from 23-25 September 2027 and will focus on Feline Orthopaedics: Small Patients, Big Challenges, a topic that is particularly close to my heart. We are putting together a stimulating scientific programme alongside the warm collegial atmosphere that makes ESVOT meetings so special. There will be outstanding science, great company, plenty of opportunities to reconnect with friends and colleagues, and, of course, some fun along the way. As always, we will be supported by our valued sponsors, exhibitors, and industry partners.
Malta provides a truly exceptional setting for the meeting. Steeped in history and culture, this Mediterranean archipelago offers more than 7,000 years of heritage, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and easy travel connections from across Europe and beyond. Visitors can explore UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the magnificent walled capital city of Valletta, as well as the neighbouring islands of Gozo and Comino.
The conference itself will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, a remarkable historic venue that was originally built as the Sacra Infermeria, one of Europe's most important hospitals of its time, with construction beginning in 1574. Today, the building combines stunning historical architecture with excellent conference facilities, including a vast exhibition hall housed within the original hospital wards and an impressive tiered lecture theatre.
